What an amazing oasis this place is. After driving 500kms from Johannesburg..... we stopped overnight here which was our first night stopover booked for our Safari Tour. The accommodation is clean, tidy and spacious. Our unit overlooked the waterhole and swimming pool. The meals are well prepared and great choices. Breakfast was also what ever you required to start the day. Nothing was to much trouble by all the staff, who were very pleasant and out to please. We would love to stay there again, and highly recommend to anyone on their way to the Kruger gates not that far away. Thankyou.

I had a wonderful time at Sabie River Bush Lodge on the weekend of 12-14 December 2014. Who would forget the exceptionally great service from all the staff members! I'm already looking forward to our next holiday at Sabie River Bush lodge. The food was divine, the rooms were super clean, not to mention the aircons that served a great deal with the humid temperatures. Thank you guys!! Keep it up!!!! The food is absolutely amazing especially the fresh bread rolls that I couldn't stop stuffing my face with!! I even took one to eat on the road!

My daughter and boyfriend stayed in a luxury "tent" for 2 nights, she was constantly "Whatsapping" me via he phone using the free WiFi.
The comments just continued, Dad, this place is amazing, Dad the people here really look after you, Dad our accommodation is unbelievable, Dad the safari trips are incredible, we saw so many animals. And the best one from her was "I think today was the best day of my life, that elephant was about 2 steps away!"
To all at the Lodge and the safari guides, a massive thanks for making my daughter's stay truly memorable. Candice, thank you for arranging things and for making me feel totally relaxed about leaving my daughter in your care!

I recently had the privilege of staying at Sabi River Bush Lodge and have only words of praise for this piece of paradise.
From the time of our arrival to the time of our departure we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were fantastic, rooms were well appointed and comfortable and the food was just great.
We even had a herd of Elephant in the Sabi River to greet us on arrival - Thanks for organising this welcoming committee.
To all at Sabi River Bush Lodge - Thank you for a memorable stay and I will most certainly be back!

I just wanted to drop you a note on behalf of my parents regarding their stay last week at Sabie River Lodge.

Once again, they thoroughly enjoyed their time there and happily recommend it to their friends.

They specifically wanted to mention how fantastic the food was. I think on their previous visit they were a little disappointed but they couldn't stop talking about how delicious the meals were this time, especially the breads and muffins.

Please can you pass this message onto your management team … and thanks for making my parents stay so great.

    Regards
    Danielle de Grooth

I knew nothing about booking a safari holiday and arriving at Sabie River Bush Lodge was more luck than judgement but we certainly fell on our feet. Our room was amazing with its traditional thatched roof. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The view from the restaurant and decking were stunning. We had a great 4 day stay and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation just outside Kruger.

    “Experience of a lifetime”

Stayed for five days, went on four Kruger Park Safaris.
Accomodation was comfortable, clean and affordable. Meals were varied each day and were good, quite large by my standards. We stayed in the safari tents overlooking the Sabi River which is in Kruger National Park. Perhaps a highlight was after returning from a safari we were sitting on the deck when over the bank opposite came at least 27 elephants of all sizes, they progressed along the river bank eating with babies suckling from their mums, next another group of elephants appeared over 40 that we could counts, these magnificent creatures stayed around for several hours, using the river to drink all within metres of where we were. The staff were great our driver "Life" was knowledgable and determined that we would see the big five, which we did plus many other animals.
One sour note of our stay was the Manager Steve, who was quite rude and abrupt we had arranged a visit to a local hotel which was confirmed from their office only to be told we wont be taken, no explanation. At checkout costs on the bill did not tally up with what we did. A night safari, had acharge to drop us atb the Kruger gate and pick up afterwards, not mentioned till the bill.
We had a great time, two new cabins were nearing completion, these looked like they would be family friendly.

Good value, a great base for the Kruger Park”

Our party of 16 descended on the Lodge for a 3 day stay.
We had local and international guests, some of whom wanted to explore the KNP, and others the scenic beauty of the Lowveld.
The Lodge is especially convenient for those wishing to visit the Park.
Accommodation was good, and varied, some normal chalets, others tented and self-catering.

Staff were very friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful.
The setting is great, with the river flowing by just meters away, and attracting a variety of game and birdlife.
Bar prices were reasonable, and all-in-all, it was a great start to our safari week!

    “Recharge your soul”
What a beautiful lodge!!!!!!!! my boyfriend and I had the most amazing time here :) it was so peaceful and stunning and it made us relax so beautifully. The staff were out of this world, definitely a 10 out of 10 for the service and friendliness :) We ate dinner on the beautiful deck lit up by a huge bonfire and sipped on amarula before heading to bed early and having the most amazing peaceful sleep ever. The food was outstanding and the place really did recharge our souls. we will definitely be back and I would recommended this place to everyone... go and recharge your soul at the best place to stay near the Kruger.

Great value for family of four, we stayed in one room but we all slept well and were comfortable.”
We are a family of four (children 11 and13) and stayed here for 3 nights. We had a great time. We were in one room ( this wasn't clear when booking) but we were quite comfortable, we were so tired after safari we all slept well! The food was good, there was a choice of 3 starters, 2 main and 2 desserts they were very accommodating as I am vegetarian. The staff were very friendly and were helpful when my daughter was unwell. We looked at the tent accommodation and they looked good from the outside!

    “Fantastic haven”
Isn’t it strange, you can read a review here and it makes you weary of someone. Well we spent three nights here around the Skukuza Half Marathon and we found *all* of the staff. We were SO fortunate to have a family of elephants there the first evening right on the other side of the fence It was so lovely to just watch them "being" and then to watch them cross the river.
Lucas is also deserving of a mention - his interactions with us were pure top-notch hospitality.
We stayed in room 10 for the first two nights, then moved to tent 4 for the last night when it became available.
There was some "background" noise from the local township however it was not troubling and became a "white noise" until it stopped late evening.
    We will be back.

    “Perfect wedding venue!”
What a fantastic experience! We recently stayed at Sabie River Bush Lodge with a bunch of our friends and family. During this time we also booked out the entire lodge for one day to celebrate our wedding! Organizing a wedding in South Africa from the United States can be particularly challenging, however, Sabie River Bush Lodge was incredibly accommodating and the perfect venue for our big day. SRBL took care of all the catering (awesome lamb spit included), decorations (both the ceremony and reception) as well as cocktails and other drinks throughout the day. All we had to do was show up. Although it was not required of them at all, 3 employees stayed up until midnight serving drinks (and got up again at 4am to make breakfast – and it was delicious). Patrick built a wooden pagoda for us to stand underneath while doing our vows, and planted a beautiful garden in the boma. Overall the setting is absolutely gorgeous. We had our ceremony in the boma with the guests facing the river, and our reception on the big wooden deck - overlooking the river. Stuart did an amazing job with logistics and meeting all our needs – everything from a special cupcake recipe to snack and cocktail suggestions. Candice and her team handled all the decorating and flower arrangements – we could not have asked for a more professional service and the outcome was stunning! All the staff members were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the whole weekend – they really went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and our wedding beautiful. We have received so many compliments about how lovely everything looked and how amazing the service was – I would highly recommend Sabie River Bush Lodge not only as a stopover to Kruger, but also as a wedding venue.

Our base for our safari at kruger park. But when you have elephants, hippos, warthogs and more just accross the river the safari comes to you. After a days spotting in the park you can sit on the decking with a beer and let them come to view you. !!. Rooms basic but clean and comfortable. Good air con as was very hot.. All you need.. food. Good and tasty. And a canny bunch serving.. a really enjoyable stay.. highly recommended. .

We stayed at the Sabie River Bush Lodge for three nights and enjoyed our stay a lot.
The room was very nice, the food good and our guide Kylie amazing. We enjoyed her very much and had a very good time on the game drives. She knows a lot about the Park and animals living in it. We had good laughs with her.
All together we loved our time at Sabie River and would recommend it to friends.
Kylie, thank your being such a great guide and understanding my love for Hippos.
We are looking forward to our next visit.

    Hi

Wonderful place. A great harmony between the destination, Kruger National Park, and the Lodge. The structure and building found an harmony with the nature. We chose to live in the tent and we were greatly satisfied.
